Feeling Ill and Face Mask Review

November 17, 2014

So it’s been a couple of weeks since I made a video! It’s all explained in my new video which went live last night (I’ll post a link later when I’m on my computer) but basically I wasn’t feeling too well :( No one likes filming when they don’t feel good. Or look good, if anyone saw my Instagram that weekend they’d have seen that I look ghostly white.. And that’s not because of the filter.

Anyway! I said in my beauty haul video a few weeks back that I would maybe post a review of the Lush Cosmetic Warrior fresh face mask once I had used it a few times. The tub is now empty, I got 6 face masks out of the little tub, although you could possibly use a little less and get a couple more out of it. It has to be used within 21 days though because of the fresh ingredients, so the sales assistant (who was an angel btw) recommended setting aside certain days/nights to use it so that it doesn’t go to waste. Originally I thought that £6.50 for a little tub was quite expensive, but when you consider that most single sachet face masks are at least £1 each, it works out around the same cost.

The ingredients in Cosmetic Warrior include garlic, tea tree, grapes, honey and free range eggs. The mask is almost a clay mask consistency, which I was told is better for people with sensitive skin. My skin reminds me of a moody teenager, in that when it doesn’t like something it goes all red and angry, and it suffers hormonal breakouts fairly frequently. Products like anti-bacterial face washes are honestly the worst products I can use, so I can find myself being fairly limited in new products to try. Luckily everything the sales assistant seemed to be correct – my skin felt completely fine after using the mask, no redness at all thanks to the tea tree which is very rare for me. The honey left my skin feeling cleansed and moisturised too, without feeling oily or greasy. Some people might be out off by the smell; garlic and tea tree is a somewhat strong combination! But after the first use, the smell didn’t particularly bother me.

Overall, it’s definitely a mask I’d buy again. There are so many in Lush that I’d like to try, so I’m not sure whether I’ll buy it straight away, but it definitely gets a thumbs up from me :)
