Summer Favourites: Fashion!
Onto the fashion instalment of my summer favourites! You may have seen some of these items before, as the majority of the clothes I picked up over summer were bought for Summer in the City! If you want to see more of the items I packed for SitC, you can see the video I uploaded before going HERE.
First up is a top that I was slightly wary about buying, simply because I already own so many similar ones! This top is by Forever 21, and since ordering it from their website, I’ve fallen in love with it. I tend to wear clothes that are comfortable first and foremost, and I love tops that I can wear with a pair of high-waisted skinny jeans. This grey crop is the perfect length for that, and it’s so comfy! It’s not too boxy, which can sometimes be a problems with more loose crops. It has little turn-ups on the sleeves, and I love the slogan ‘Pretty Mess’ on the front – occasionally I can look pretty, but most of the time, I’m generally a mess!
Next is a skirt that I absolutely had to have as soon as I laid eyes on it. I love all things Sonic the Hedgehog – in fact, I’m tempted to pick up a Sonic plushie for my bed if I can find one I like! I also love visiting the Drop Dead store whenever I’m in London – they moved premises earlier this year and the new store is even better than the previous one (it’s down in the Carnaby area, if you’re wondering!) When DD announced a Sonic collaboration, I pretty much fell off my chair. This skirt sits perfectly on my waist and looks adorable with a little crop tee! It features a print of Sonic, Tails, Dr Robotnik and Knuckles. I wore this to my Saturday meet & greets at SitC – it’s casual enough that you can team it with heels, or with chunky trainers like I did!
Moving onto my Sunday meet & greet outfit – I’ve had so many compliments on this outfit, I was quite surprised actually! I’m hardly a fashionista. If you’ve watched the video above, you’ll already be aware of my struggle to find the perfect bardot top for SitC. I wanted a cute, white bardot top. Nothing too fussy. Something floaty, almost festival-like. It shouldn’t be too difficult, right? I searched the whole of Glasgow on multiple occasions before finally coming across this one in Miss Selfridge. It has elasticated sleeves, which avoids the age-old flappy sleeve issue, and the vertical stripes are so flattering! I felt so girlie wearing this – all that was missing was a huge floppy hat and sunglasses (although can you imagine that indoors?!)
Accompanying the bardot top were these blue shorts from New Look. I love these shorts because they’re a little longer than most that you find on the high street. I’m not exactly one for strutting down the street in hot pants! I found the length of these, as well as the stripes, really flattering – and I loved that they were elasticated as opposed to the usual zips and buttons malarkey. With an almost linen-like material, these shorts are fit for the Med – now who wants to take me on holiday?
Those are my absolute fashion favourites of the summer – finally, onto the random ones!
