What’s In My Makeup Bag 2019

Sometimes I wonder why I have a makeup bag. Most of the time, my makeup is all over my room! I can’t wait for the day that I have my own dressing room, and everything is organised… it’s a pipedream, but I’m holding onto it! For the purpose of this blog post, we’re just going to pretend that I’m super tidy and put my everyday products back in my makeup bag.
First off, let’s just admire this amazing makeup bag. My friend Laura got me this one for Christmas a couple of years back – which Powerpuff girl are you? I’m definitely Bubbles.
I might as well do this in a logical order, so let’s kick off with the L’Oreal Infalliable Mattifying Base Primer. I’ve been using this for years as an everyday primer, although I’ll sometimes use my Benefit Porefessional or NIOD Opacity 12% Photography Fluid if I’m feeling a little more extravagant!
One of the stars of the show is the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in the shade Snow. I’ve written a whole other blog post on how much I adore this foundation, so I won’t say too much about it, other than that it’s super lightweight and it saved my sunburnt bacon whilst on holiday last year!
Next up is the Too Faced Born This Way Multi-Sculpting Concealer, also in the shade Snow. It covers all my imperfections and gives me a flawless finish, as well as a decent base for my eyeshadow. I set the concealer with the NYX HD Finishing Powder in Transparent.

Sticking with skin, I have the Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sun Glow. It’s another product that I rarely use, but I like to keep a bronzer on hand in case I’m looking particularly pale! I always keep 2 contour products in my bag too. My current staples are MAC Powder Blush in Harmony (I’ve had it in my bag since my 2017 college graduation and it hasn’t left) and a little Body Shop quad that I received for Christmas the same year (and can’t find a link for!) The darkest shade is GLORIOUS. I’ve also got my MAC Powder Blush in Peaches in my bag for that rosy cheek look.
I always have a couple of highlight products with me (all about that layering y’all). My current base highlight is the MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish Powder in Oh, Darling. It has a golden undertone and looks amazing! For a bit of extra glow I use my Sleek Solstice palette – especially on my nose and cupid’s bow for extra intensity. I’m still a fan of glowing like the moon.
I have various bits and bobs in terms of eye products kicking around my makeup bag. For brows I swear by the NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Taupe – it’s a cracking dupe for ABH Brow Wiz. I’m currently toying with the idea of Glossier Boy Brow – but I think I’ll try out my sister’s one beforehand! I always have my NYX Matte Liquid Liner in Black in my bag as well, although I sometimes swap it out for the Vinyl version.
There are 2 mascaras living in my bag as well – there is a reason, I promise! I adore my Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara – it leaves my lashes feeling full and voluminous without that heavy feeling. It’s great for a more chunky look as well if you apply an extra coat! Plus, I love the brush for my lower lashes – I rarely wear mascara on my lower lashes, but if I do, it’s this one. If I’m wearing lashes, I don’t want my natural lashes to have a lot of volume (ironically). I struggle to place the false lashes properly if there’s too much of a curl (does that even make sense? Let me know if you have the same problem!) So, I turn to Benefit Roller Lash – it gives them a bit of a fluttery look without the extra length and volume. Speaking of lashes, I keep my Duo lash glue in here too.

I’m a nightmare for having a million lipsticks in my makeup bag. And since most of them are MAC, they all look the exact same (great for the aesthetic, not for the morning rush). The ones I’m carrying around just now are Jamie Genevieve’s Maker lipstick (although you can’t get it anymore, it’s the perfect nude), Brick-O-La as a red with brown undertone, and Brave for a pink-ish nude.
The final two are my Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink liquid lipstick in Poet, and the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Extreme Plump gloss. I don’t tend to wear gloss much anymore since my hair is long enough to stick to my lips, but for days where I’m indoors it gives a glossy finish.
That’s a quick tour of my current makeup bag – have you got any of the same products? What are your favourites? Xx
